The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) kicked off June 2025 with a robust round of invitations through its Employer Job Offer streams. These targeted draws focused on specific regions and in-demand occupations, highlighting Ontario’s strategic use of immigration to support regional and economic priorities. Below is a breakdown of the key details from the June 3 and June 6 invitation rounds — essential reading for prospective applicants and stakeholders.

June 3, 2025: A Major Round of Invitations

On June 3, the OINP issued a substantial number of targeted invitations to candidates in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool who may qualify under the Foreign Worker, International Student, or In-Demand Skills streams. These invitations were geared toward individuals residing in Canada with at least a Bachelor’s degree, reinforcing Ontario’s focus on both regional development and labor market needs.

Northern Ontario: 973 Invitations

A total of 973 invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in Northern Ontario, including areas such as Muskoka, Nipissing, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and Kenora. This push underscores Ontario’s commitment to supporting economic growth in its northern communities.

Eastern Ontario: 334 Invitations

334 invitations went to candidates with job offers in Eastern Ontario, spanning regions such as Ottawa, Peterborough, Renfrew, and Prince Edward. This aligns with the province’s continued emphasis on regional population growth and workforce development.

REDI Pilot: 843 Invitations

Under the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot, 843 invitations were issued. This initiative supports candidates who have job offers in smaller communities and are currently living in Canada with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Healthcare Occupations: Priority Invitations

The OINP also issued targeted invitations to candidates working in priority healthcare occupations, a critical sector across the province. The following National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes were included:

  • 31101 – Specialists in surgery

  • 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians

  • 31300 – Nursing coordinators and supervisors

  • 31301 – Registered nurses and psychiatric nurses

  • 31302 – Nurse practitioners

  • 31303 – Physician assistants, midwives, and allied health professionals

  • 32101 – Licensed practical nurses

  • 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates

  • 44101 – Home support workers, housekeepers, and related occupations (across all three streams)

Healthcare candidates required a minimum score of 68 (Foreign Worker and International Student streams) or 34 (In-Demand Skills stream).

Career Development Practitioners: In-Demand Role

Additionally, the province issued invitations to candidates with job offers under NOC 41321 (Career Development Practitioners and Counsellors, except education). A minimum score of 45 was required. This move highlights Ontario’s need for professionals who can support workforce transitions and employment services.

June 6, 2025: Correcting a System Error

On June 6, the OINP issued 72 additional invitations to candidates with job offers in Greater Sudbury. These were re-issued due to a system error in the previous round, ensuring no eligible candidates were missed. Invitations applied to all three Employer Job Offer streams for individuals residing in Canada with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
